Sri Lanka has initiated the construction of a dedicated jet fuel pipeline and new oil storage tanks at Muthurajawela, aiming to enhance national energy infrastructure and fuel supply security. Simultaneously, Parliament is set to convene from October 6 to 9, with key debates on foreign exchange regulations, public debt management, and the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill. The aviation fuel pipeline project, led by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited, includes a 21-kilometre-long underground pipeline and five new storage tanks with a combined capacity of 92,000 cubic metres. The parliamentary session will also cover seven Private Members’ Motions on various topics, including environmental conservation and railway development.
