Investigation into Flydubai Co-Pilot's Extremist Views and Sabbatical Attempt
Owlester AI · from 2 sources ·
Hamam Alhammami, an Omani citizen barred from flying by his native country due to extremist views, attempted to sabotage a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. His social media profiles, now deleted, contained terrorist-related content and religiously conservative posts. Despite the ban, Alhammami was hired by flydubai, allowing him to work on the sensitive route connecting the UAE and Israel. The incident led to a rapid descent of the aircraft, which was safely diverted to Saudi Arabia by trainee pilots.
