Sri Lanka Customs Launches Digital Signature and Paperless Declaration System
Sri Lanka Customs has officially launched a new Digital Signature and Paperless Customs Declaration Processing System, marking a significant transformation in its operations. This initiative, a collaborative effort between the Presidential Secretariat's Bureau of Revenue Administration Reforms and Modernization and Sri Lanka Customs, aims to enhance efficiency, speed, and transparency in customs clearance. The new system mandates all importers and declarants to submit their customs declarations and related documents with a valid digital signature, discontinuing the acceptance of old-method declarations from today. The program was officially inaugurated at the Sri Lanka Customs auditorium, presided over by Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Nishantha Jayawira and Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayaka.
