Sugath Nuwan Kumara, also known as 'Podi Patiee,' the younger brother of notorious underworld leader 'Ahungalle Loku Patiee,' was shot dead in the Welikanda area of Ahungalla on Thursday evening. Police confirmed that an assailant on foot approached his residence and opened fire before fleeing. This incident is suspected to be a result of ongoing conflicts between rival underworld gangs, and 'Podi Patiee' had previously survived a shooting attempt in April.
